Highlanders Play for a Greater Cause at Annual Dig Pink Match

On Wednesday, October 28, 91Porn’s women’s volleyball team paired a strong performance with a meaningful purpose at its annual Dig Pink match against Keystone College.

This annual game raises awareness and funds for breast cancer and honors individuals and families affected by cancer. The Highlanders swept the Giants in three sets (25–7, 25–6, 25–16), improving to 14–8 overall and 6–3 in United East Conference play. Senior outside hitter and team captain Bridget Dahn recorded seven kills in the opening set, while junior libero Liliana Magazzu contributed key aces throughout the match.

Beyond the final score, the evening offered players and spectators an opportunity to recognize those behind the cause. “It’s a chance to be able to highlight individual stories that happen all around us,â€ Dahn said. “We get to play for a cause that is so much greater than our team, and we are honored to host a match like this every year.â€

For Dahn, the match carries personal significance. Her family’s experience with loved ones having cancer has deepened her appreciation for opportunities to honor others affected by the disease. “It’s special to know there is a time dedicated for stories like this,â€ Dahn said.

With support from students and fans, the annual Dig Pink match gives players a meaningful opportunity to support those affected by breast cancer. For the Highlanders, the evening’s victory was simply an added bonus to playing for a cause they care about.
